Outcomes:
Program participants will be part of a community of engaged scholars with whom they are expected to interact intentionally as a part of the program.
Program participants will participate in either a reading circle or a summer institute focused on current issues in teaching and/or learning.
Program participants will craft and execute a capstone project focused on their teaching.
Program participants will purposefully reflect on their teaching methods and their implications for student learning.
Program participants will write a teaching philosophy statement that will:
- Identify their values and beliefs about teaching
- Explain how they use effective course design strategies for the courses they teach
- Provide examples of active learning strategies they have incorporated in their classroom
- Describe examples of measurable learning outcomes for their course
