New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is a 3-day event sponsored by the Office of the Provost and organized by the Office of Faculty Development. Orientation is intended for all tenure-track faculty and full-time non-tenure-track faculty new to the University and those who have come to NC State within the past year, or did not attend the preceding year’s NFO.

Location:  Chancellor’s Residence at “The Point” on Centennial Campus.

This academic orientation is separate and apart from the New Employee Human Resources Orientation.

NOTE: Faculty in the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (PAMS) which as of July 1, 2013 will be known as the College of Sciences (COS) and the College of Engineering (COE) should attend the orientation sponsored by those colleges. Faculty in the department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry, & Science are asked to attend this orientation as well. The purpose of the event is to provide information, skills and resources for faculty to successfully begin teaching, research, and extension and engagement activities at NC State and to familiarize faculty about NC State and the Raleigh/Wake County area.

The program provides opportunities for networking among new faculty members and interaction with experienced NC State faculty and university administrators.

In addition, the Chancellor hosts a reception for all new faculty where they will meet Chancellor Woodson, Provost Arden, Deans, and other key administrators.
