In support of that mission, we facilitate many events throughout the year. For information on events happening this semester, take a look at our Events Calendar. We sponsor a variety of ongoing programs, including the Reflective Educational Design |RED| Core Teaching Certification and Inclusive Teaching Certification, Virtual Reading Circles, and Virtual Faculty Writing Retreats.

We also facilitate a number of annual events, including our Institutes, the Teaching and Learning Symposium, and New Faculty Orientation.

University Faculty Awards

Faculty excellence is at the core of our University’s mission. For many years, NC State has recognized faculty through a variety of awards and recognitions.

Keep Teaching: Academic Continuity Planning

Whether dealing with a short-term absence or a prolonged disruption, we offer guidance to help NC State faculty work flexibly, quickly, and collaboratively to preserve and continue classes.

Promotion and Tenure

NC State faculty should be familiar with the Appointment, Reappointment, Promotion and Permanent Tenure Policy. This information can be accessed from the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost’s web site.

Evaluation of Teaching

NC State provides a range of methods for the evaluation of teaching. The Evaluation of Teaching Committee assures that those practices are appropriate and reflect the needs of faculty and students.
